UPDATE – REOPENING INFORMATION

UPDATE – REOPENING INFORMATION

I am pleased to confirm that the Gym will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday 28th January at 8:00am.

Unfortunately, following further investigation after the fire in the spa area, we have received confirmation that the roof will now require full replacement. Initial contractor feedback suggested the damage was limited; however, detailed inspection has identified that the structure and beams in the affected area must be replaced.

As a result, the Spa and Pool areas are now expected to reopen on or around 1st March.

KEY INFORMATION

• All spa guests with bookings up to the end of February will be contacted directly by the spa team.

• All spa vouchers issued after 1st November 2025 will now have unlimited expiry.

• All Health Club members paying by Direct Debit will have their membership reduced to a flat rate of £14.99 per month, reflecting the January closure and reduced facilities during February.

• Members who have paid in advance will automatically receive an additional month added to their membership.

• From Wednesday, the gym will return to normal opening hours, with 24-hour gym access Monday to Friday.

• Until the Spa reopens, new members can join on our Copper Membership at £14.99 per month, including gym & classes.

• Gym-only day passes will be available for £3.99.

Memberships and passes can be purchased at www.cliffordhealthclub.co.uk or in-club.

TEMPORARY LIMITATIONS ON REOPENING

Due to smoke damage in other areas of the club, the following temporary restrictions will apply:

• Changing rooms will be available for locker use only.

Showers will reopen on Monday 2nd February.

• Top-floor studios and classes will resume on Monday 2nd February.

(There will be no classes until this date.)

• Lifetime Members may bring guests into the gym immediately upon reopening.

• Class numbers will be monitored, and for February only, Lifetime Members’ guests will not be permitted to attend classes.

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM ME

Thank you sincerely for the many messages of support sent to myself, my family, and our incredible team.

The past 12 months have been extremely challenging, including the earlier chlorine incident, the recent sauna fire (with the cause still under investigation), and the BBC report regarding our CVA restructuring, which lacked important context.

Despite this, I remain fully focused on managing the weeks ahead and reopening the Spa safely. For the last 19 years, our mission has been to create something special while maintaining our unbelievable pricing structure — and that has not changed.

CONTEXT REGARDING THE RECENT BBC STORY

A Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) is a legally supervised process designed to help a business recover after a temporary setback.

In simple terms, it allows debts to be restructured over a longer period, ensuring:

• All creditors are paid

• Jobs are protected

• Future tax revenue is secured

While a £2 million headline figure was reported, when viewed in the context of our turnover, workforce, taxes already paid, and long-term investment into the business, it presents a very different picture.

If there are any further updates, they will be shared promptly via our website and social media.

We will come back stronger than ever.

Mark Clifford
