January News!!!…. This Year We Turn World Class!!!
1.5 Million Mill Extension Update!
After two years of planning something very special, it is all finally set to start this month as we hope to receive the good news of our successful application to rebuild a 3rd of the mill that burnt down in 1968……….To confirm, the extra space will allow us to house a fabulous new world class swimming pool, a bigger and better ladies only zone and an awesome new sports performance centre, adding an extra 5 experiences to existing Fire & Ice Spa whilst also dramatically increasing the space and spec of both changing rooms……
If as expected and no later than 15th January, we receive a positive outcome from the relevant authorities, the building work will start in February and with a bit of luck regarding the weather and no other unforeseen circumstances, the project will be completed in the late summer.
We are currently in the late stages of negotiations with two sets of building companies and hope to announce the successful firm in the next 10 days. Both parties have guaranteed that no current facility will close during the work. Once we have agreed a deal with a contractor we will announce the schedule of works but expect the following order of opening during the 7 months:
1st : The new ladies only zone
2nd :The awesome new sports performance centre
3rd: Both sets of new fabulous changing rooms
4th : The extra Fire & Ice Spa facilities
5th : The world class swimming pool
AND TO CONFIRM THERE WILL BE NO PRICE INCREASES FROM OUR £12.99 PM SILVER OR £17.50 PM GOLD OPTION FOR EXISTING MEMBERS AFTER THE EXTENSION IS COMPLETE!….
New Equipment…….
We are delighted to announce that this year’s target is to add an extra 125 pieces of equipment throughout the building and new facilities. We achieved the 2015 target of 475 pieces so we will be looking to smash the 600 barrier of total pieces of equipment in 2016!!!!
Car Parking…….
As previously announced, we are putting a separate application in to drop the curb from one end of the building to the other for as many as 45 slanted car parking spaces……We will also encourage you to use the council car park that is located only 50 seconds of walking away, on Lawrence Street ( Behind Iceland & Costa).. This car park is free before 10am and after 6pm in the evening and also the council offer an hour free of parking between these times (please remember to obtain your free ticket from the machines) …
We are also delighted to announce that from w/c 18th January, we are also offering the 2nd hour free on a cash back service from within the club, so basically giving you two hours free of charge ! Details will be announced in the coming days!!!
