It is over 2 years now since I decided that I wanted to rebuild the part of the mill that burnt down in 1968… Over this time there has been an awful lot of thought, hard work and planning inputted and we this month we will see the opening of phase one of the 2 million pound mill extension.
During this month you will see:
• The awesome new sports performance centre open, which will house 7 squat racks with lifting platforms built into them with the world class Eleiko Olympic bars and bumper plates, a performance track, a multi-functional climbing rig, punch bags and a full range of plate loaded Hammer Strength leg resistance machines. The atmosphere will be created with speciality lighting, a top of the range sound system and an urban feel with the steel frames showing from the structure.
• The fully extended new Ladies Only Zone will open. Located on the 1st floor of the mill extension this fabulous new facility will house over 120 pieces of equipment… The big windows and brickwork are really starting to create a friendly, spacious and class atmosphere. We are having a top of the range sound system and the air conditioning will be the best it can be. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE INSTALLTION OF THE EQUIPMENT THERE WILL BE NO LADIES ONLY ZONE BETWEEN THE 20TH-22nd THIS MONTH!!… A small loss for a very big gain.
• Work will start on developing the current crunch studio into a traditional dance studio. The blacked out windows are to be replaced with clear glazing, the themed lighting will be removed and next month the floor will be replaced with a sound proof, non-slip spongy floor.
• The reception area is to be upgraded with a new reception desk, ceiling beam and replacing
some doors with secret ones for a better look.
This is the latest schedule of works and openings from the building contractors
• Work will start on the new ladies changing room on September 22nd and the new world class facility will open on 16th October.
* Work will start on the male changing room and the Fire & Ice Spa extension on the 16th October. These fabulous new areas will open on November 16th.
* The 22 meter swimming pool will be all be finished on November 16th however we will not open this area until 30th November to allow for correct heating of the water, staff training and getting any snags out of the system.
PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO OR VERY LITTLE DISRUPTION TO ANY FACILITIES DURING THE WORK!!!!!!!
