Ten years really does go fast!!…. In June 2007 I purchased the New Wave Fitness centre that was located on the 2nd floor of the Mill. For the first month, the whole facility was gutted and refurbished and a new range of new equipment was installed. After the grand reopening we had a space of five thousand sqft with 45 pieces of equipment and 60 classes per month, supported by a team of 3 staff and the monthly membership fee was £29 per month… Ten years later, after what seems like one continuous building project – we now have nearing Fifty thousand square foot of space, 650 pieces of equipment, 800 classes per month and a total of 80 members of staff and somehow circumstances have enabled us to make the membership £11 cheaper per month than it was 10 years ago at £17.95 per month!!!!!!!
Yes, a lot of hard work with working crazy hours has been put in but I do feel the key to the 10 years of building the facility has been the unbelievable loyalty of the clubs members and hardworking staff and now with the addition of the day spa facility the ratio of returning guests is just fantastic. A big thank you to you all, I really do appreciate your loyalty.
I face daily questions on whether I am going to sell or let a general manager take over but the honest answer is I am as motivated as I was 10 years ago to make the facility the best and no plans ever to sell or put a general manager in. This can be seen and this is clear to see as I’ve previously announced this year we are looking to add a further five thousand square foot in the roof space of the mill with the addition of a further 80 pieces of equipment, a café area will be created and in the spa an extra sauna, steam room and 7 further treatment rooms will be added.

I am at the final stages of designing the new timetable that will Now be launched on Monday 19th June!…. One or two bits of tweaking are still needed but the target of a whopping 800 classes per month is looking very likely and YES ALL CLASSES WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE GOLD £17.95 pm
